Daniel J. Choudek, PE

President/Principal Engineer, CFEI  

Dan is a licensed Professional Electrical Engineer. He has been involved in over 5,000 cases in his career. Dan graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has been active in the field of forensic engineering since 1987, forming his own consulting firm in 1999 when he founded OnSite Engineering & Forensic Services, Inc. located in Prior Lake, MN. Dan has become one of the most sought after experts in the forensic engineering field; testifying in both U.S. Federal and State courts. His diverse experience in forensic engineering includes electrical malfunction investigations, product failure analysis, interpretation of electrical code issues, product testing and analysis and expert testimony. Dan participates in fire and electrical investigations though out the United States, providing knowledgeable, thorough and ethical service to all clients.

Brock S. Lindstedt, EE

Senior Electrical Engineer

Brock is an electrical engineer with over thirty years of experience in product development and engineering troubleshooting. Brock joined OnSite Engineering in 2010 and has applied his expertise to a full range of forensic investigations. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Prior to joining OnSite Engineering, Brock has worked for several firms, been an independent contractor and served on the Lake Johanna Fire Department. Brock is a valued member of the team with his broad experience in the electrical engineering field.

Lucas R. Choudek, EE

Electrical Engineer, CFEI, CVFI

Luke is an electrical engineer with over fifteen years of experience in the forensic discipline. Luke joined OnSite Engineering as a Forensic Electrical Engineer in 2014. He worked many years part-time for the company assisting at site and lab exams, managing artifacts, research and was involved in many aspects of the forensic engineering field. Luke worked as an electrical engineer in power systems, distribution design, research, and technology for a local utility company. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Luke served as a volunteer firefighter with the Prior Lake Fire Department.

John P. Fonder, PE

Mechanical Engineer, Certified Gas Engineer, CFEI

JP is a mechanical engineer with over fifteen years of experience in the forensic discipline. JP joined OnSite Engineering as a Mechanical Engineer in 2015. He worked many years part-time for the company assisting at site and lab exams, managing artifacts, research and was involved in many aspects of the forensic engineering field. While receiving his degree JP worked as a mechanical engineering intern with a major gas fireplace manufacturing company and as a structural engineering apprentice with the United States Air Force. JP graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is also a Certified Gas Engineer, Certified Fireplace and Chimney Inspector, and is Certified in Plumbing Design. JP is a veteran of the Air Force Reserves.

Claire M. Krokker, MSEE

Electrical Engineer

Claire is an electrical engineer with over eight years of experience. Claire joined OnSite Engineering as an Electrical Engineer in 2022. She interned with OnSite in 2015 assisting at site and lab exams, research, and was involved in many aspects of the forensic engineering field. Claire served in the United States Air Force utilizing her engineering degree in the A-10 Avionics division. While serving in the USAF, she earned her Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Dakota. Claire graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Electrical Engineering and was part of the ROTC program.

Shawn M. Sieben

Certified Evidence Collection Technician

Shawn provides technical support to the engineers on their case files both in the field and in the laboratory. He is a Certified Evidence Collection Technician through the IAAI. Shawn is also responsible for artifact and laboratory management. He graduated from Brown College with a degree in Computer Science. Shawn also received his Fire Science Technology Degree – AAS. He has Fire Fighting I and Fire Fighting II Certification and is an Emergency Medical Responder.

Michelle L. Choudek

CEO

Michelle is responsible for finance, marketing and the overall management of OnSite Engineering. Her experience in both the private and public sector brings a broad range of skills to OnSite Engineering. Michelle has held a number of leadership positions at both the city and county level. She has a Master in Education from the University of Minnesota, a mini Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas, and an undergraduate degree in Social Work.

Shawn A. Richey

Operations Manager

Shawn is responsible for case management, client contact, marketing, special projects and overall office management. Shawn has worked for both large and small businesses in her career including positions in product development, production planning, procurement and customer service. She has a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Illinois.
